HAPPY GANESH UTSAV TO ALL
PUNE'S DAGADUSETH HALWAI GANPATI GANESH FESTIVAL reminds me of my childhood days in PUNE. Close to my house there stayed an old man called Shri Wagh who had a passion towards making huge Ganesh murthis (idols). He had a small workshop in front of our building. He was the person who made the nearby people feel the fun of arrival of Ganesh festival. The entire family members got on to their jobs. Shri Wagh had people under him to do various jobs. He first prepared a rough sketch of the idol. He had a basic summary of the first foundation to be done. Wooden frames, stools, tables, rods, clay, drums filled with water plenty of brushes, colours, spray everything was kept ready for the moulding, casting and painting. A wooden frame was made , a table was fixed on it. A rod was fixed in the centre. A dough was made by mixing clay in the required quantity of water. The dough was split into parts,...
