VETERAN MALAYALAM LYRICIST SHRI CHUNAKKARA RAMANKUTTY

The Malayalam Film Industry has lost one of the great  personalities  Shri Chunakkara Ramankutty , who was not only an Indian film lyricist but also a good actor and a good orator who hailed from a village called Chunakkara in Alappuzha district of Kerala.

From his teenage days he has been writing lyrics  and making his own music but his first song Apsara Kanyake from Aasramam was released in 1978.  He had a strong bond with musician Shyam as they worked together for many years.  He has written 215 songs for nearly 75 movies.  In the year 1984 he wrote 32 songs that year itself.  All his songs were melodious .  His last piece was after the death of Veteran Rajya Sabha Member Shri M.P. Veerendra Kumar.
