NAVRATRI - NINE DAYS FESTIVAL

NAVRATRI is a festival that spans nine days every autumn that is September or October every year. In India it is celebrated differently with different stories or legends but the common theme is the battle  and the victory of Good over Evil.   In some states Durga Puja is synonymous with Navaratri where Goddess Durga battles and emerges victorious over the buffalo demon to help restore Dharma.  Some states celebrate "Ram Lila" and Dussehra where the battle and victory is of God Rama over the demon king Ravana.   In the South the victory of different goddesses of Rama or Saraswati is celebrated.  On the last day called Dussehra or Vijayadashami the statues are either immersed in river or  ocean or it is burnt with fireworks marking evil's destruction.  The nine days are  dedicated to Goddess Durga for her nine Avatars.  Each day is significant as the prominent battle that took place between Durga and demon Mahishasura celebrates the v...

  Do we really need to raise voice everyday?  Does only International Girls day makes the world aware how precious Girls are ?  Everyday we come across new new incidents happening around us which has a lot to do with Girls.  Girls are growing smarter and touching the sky.  On the other hand we find lots of cases where girls are falling down as victims. IF YOU WANT TO SHINE LIKE A SUN FIRST BURN LIKE A SUN APJ ABDUL KALAM IS AVUL PAKIR JAINULABDEEN ABDUL KALAM.   BORN IN A TAMIL FAMILY ON 15 OCTOBER 1931 HE WAS THE YOUNGEST OF THE FIVE SIBLINGS,  HIS FATHER A P JAINULABDEEN WAS THE IMAM OF A MOSQUE IN HIS HOMETOWN OF RAMESHWARAM.  HIS FATHER WOULD SIT WITH THE  HEAD PRIEST OF RAMANATHASWAMY HINDU TEMPLE AND A CHURCH PRIEST WITH HOT TEA AND DISCUSS ON VARIOUS ISSUES.  THIS MADE YOUNG KALAM BELIEVE AND RESPECT ALL RELIGION .   ABDUL KALAM WAS FOND OF SAYING  "FOR GREAT MEN, RELIGION IS A WAY OF MAKING FRIENDS; SMALL PEOPLE MAKE RELIGION A FIGHTING TOOL." ABDUL KALAM LIVED A SIMPLE LIFESTYLE. REKHA WAS BORN IN MADRAS (CHENNAI) TO TAMIL ACTOR GEMINI GANESAN AND TELUGU ACTRESS PUSHPAVALLI.  HER FATHER DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PATERNITY DURING HER CHILDHOOD,  THE FINANCIAL STATE OF HER FAMILY COMPELLED HER TO QUIT SCHOOL AND START A CAREER IN ACTING. ANIMALS OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZE PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF BALANCE IN THE ECOSYSTEM.  THEY ARE ALSO AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN THE MAINTENACE OF SOIL QUALITY AND CLIMATE REGULATION IN THE ENVIRONMENT.
